Unfleshed Future

When people talk about the future, I cringe. Not because it is so bleak, but because I am rubbish at the “planning for the future” game most people like to play. I always have been. I suspect this is because Time and Space have not endeared themselves to my core being.

Of course they tried. Heaven knows they tried. Over the years, they’ve knocked on all the doors and panels and hatches I have installed to regulate what comes in and what not. These days, I let them in, or rather, I pretend to let them in. They only get as far as the outer ring. The inner ring, with my personal entrance to the flow, with the many portal holes to other inner worlds, is a no-go area for both Time and Space.

They know that, and they grieve about it. Especially the future, the most passionate element of Time. The future really wants to be planned, it begs to be mapped out in urgent processes, it needs to feel that someone cares.

“Don’t you care what happens to you and your kind when I unveil myself? Don’t you want to influence the amount of joy and sorrow awaiting you all?”

This is how the future presents itself when people talk about it. Sounds quite reasonable, doesn’t it?

But on the few occasions I let the future in back when my inner ring wasn’t protected, it always pushed hard to make me do things that ran contrary to the flow. It pushed so hard I felt jumpy, on edge because it all had to be done RIGHT NOW.

Like, me, you probably do care what happens to human kind. You do want to influence the amount of joy and sorrow awaiting us. And this is precisely the reason you should keep the future at bay when it comes to the inner ring.

The inner ring is, one might say, a sacred place. Time and Space do not matter there. The flow does. The flow keeps creativity going. The flow helps us connect on multiple levels. Interaction with the flow works best when we are without worries, without plans, without focus – the way we were before we learned about Time and Place, pesky dimensions that are necessary for life on Earth.

We should all protect the flow against the future, thus helping ourselves to stay strong and authentic. That might just be the best way to plan for whatever is coming our way.
