Corner View: Something To Celebrate

The other day, I had a conversation with someone who argued that “it being over” meant that mankind will move on to the next level, leaving the physical realm behind. It cheered this person up to no end.

I like the physical realm. I like the feel of this body. When I walk the earth, I like how my arms and legs move and my little heap of consciousness moves along with it, reconnoitring time and space. I like marvelling at the goose bumps on my arms when the wind tickles them.

Sure, the next level, should such a thing exist, might be interesting. There is bound to be some sort of interaction still, but, according to my conversation partner, this would be without a fixed presence in the physical realm.

That would mean that consciousness as we humans know it has no focal point.
I actually quite like having a focal point, being a tiny dot in time and space. So, today, I’m celebrating.

I celebrate that I woke up (twice, I took an afternoon nap), physical layer and spiritual layer neatly folded together into one frolicking human being, after hours of smooth sailing on dreamy waters.

And I celebrate that in between both healing periods of sleep, I was present enough to finally, for the first time ever, harvest Galium Odoratum (sweet woodruff) in the nick of time. Its flowers were already budding, and though I like them for their prettiness, they reportedly take away from the magical (relaxing) powers of the leaves.
